Organic Chemistry Should Be Clear.

Introducing the Organic Reaction Series — a book series that makes complex organic chemistry easier to understand. Coming Soon.

❓ The Problem

Chemistry often feels overwhelming. Concepts are memorized, reactions feel disconnected, and the reason behind the science is rarely explained.

⚠️ Why It Matters

When concepts and reactions feel disconnected, students can become confused and frustrated. They stop asking questions, lose confidence, and start believing chemistry simply isn’t for them — even when they’re capable.

💡 Our Approach

The Organic Reaction Series is a multi-volume book series built around understanding first. Each volume focuses on a key area of organic chemistry connecting concepts, reactions and mechanisms logically and step by step.

Organic Reaction Series

Designed for UG & PG students of Chemistry including Organic, Applied, Pharmaceutical, Medicinal, Industrial and related Chemical Sciences as well as teachers, lecturers and researchers seeking a deeper understanding of Organic Reactions, Mechanisms and their Applications..

Behind the Organic Reaction Series

S. Kalaivani, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D.,

Former Senior Lecturer in Chemistry

With 16 years of experience in teaching Organic Chemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students, Dr. S. Kalaivani has also contributed to syllabus framing, question-paper setting and examination valuation.

Following her teaching career, she pursued doctoral research in Nanochemistry and has published six research papers in international journals.

Years of teaching and interacting with generations of chemistry students have given her a practical understanding of where learners struggle and how complex concepts can be explained with greater clarity.

From Classroom Notes to a Book Series

The Organic Reaction Series began in the classroom.

Over years of teaching Organic Chemistry, Dr. S. Kalaivani developed her own notes and explanations to help students understand difficult concepts more clearly. Students who found these materials useful began asking her to turn them into books so that future batches could benefit from the same approach.

Encouragement from university academics further strengthened the idea. What started as teaching notes gradually developed into a multi-volume Organic Reaction Series.

Connecting the Dots in Organic Chemistry

The series is built around a simple principle:
Organic chemistry should be understood as a connected subject, not as isolated reactions to remember.

Rather than presenting concepts and reactions separately, the books connect concepts, reactions, mechanisms, stereochemistry and applications so that one idea naturally leads to the next.

Each volume develops its subject through a clear conceptual flow, helping readers see how reactions are related, why mechanisms behave the way they do, and how individual ideas fit into the larger picture of organic chemistry.
